curved seating that encloses
Poliform Orbis sofa and armchair
Orbis is about enclosure. Two sofas and an armchair, listed in 2024, all built on a curved back that wraps around whoever sits in it, and in 2026 the Orbis Lounge added a cocoon chair with its own pouf and headrest.

A back that curves around you
A curved back does something a straight one cannot: it cuts the room off at shoulder height. Sitting in an Orbis chair in the middle of an open plan apartment feels like sitting in a smaller room, which is the whole reason the family exists and the reason it works badly pushed against a wall.
That makes Orbis the answer to a specific problem. Large open spaces with high ceilings, the kind American apartments are full of, tend to leave seating stranded. A curved piece creates its own edge and gives a sofa somewhere to be.
The Lounge version from 2026 takes it further with generous curves, a matching pouf and a headrest, and it is drawn for both homes and contract spaces. With the pouf in place it is close to a chaise; without it, it is a reading chair with a back that reaches the head.
The two sofas cover the ordinary case, where the curve is softer and the piece still behaves like seating for several people. Between the three, the decision is how private you want the seat to feel, and that is best settled by sitting in one.
The curved back cuts the room off at shoulder height.
