Poliform Flute table
Flute is a small round table built on the shape of a stemmed glass: a thin base rising to a round top. It arrived in 2008 and the coffee table version followed in 2012, with the same thin profile at a lower height.

A stem, not a pedestal
The difference between a stem and a pedestal is how much floor the table claims. A pedestal is a solid mass that occupies the space under the top; a stem leaves it open, so chairs tuck under from any angle and the room reads larger. For a table meant for two or four people, that is worth more than an extra few inches of top.
Round is the other half of it. With no corners and no head of the table, a round Flute is the piece for an intimate dinner or a kitchen corner where a rectangle would block the way past. It also handles an odd number of people without anyone sitting at a gap.
Tops come in marble and glass among other finishes, and the choice changes the character completely: marble makes the table an object, glass makes it disappear and leaves the stem as the design. In a small apartment the glass version is often the only one that works.
The coffee table from 2012 repeats the idea at low height. Two of them at slightly different sizes in front of a sofa is the arrangement the family was drawn for, and it beats one large low table in almost every room.
